Hello, and happy Sunday!

Early bird registration is open for our new course, Maximize Your Mind With ChatGPT, created by Dan Shipper and Dr. Gena Gorlin. Starting on February 5, it’s a four-week cohort-based course in which you’ll learn how to leverage ChatGPT to meet your goals and enhance your psychological growth.

Now, on to everything we published this week, our take on the latest AI news, and more about the course.

Our stories

“ChatGPT and the Future of the Human Mind” by Dan Shipper/Chain of Thought: AI doesn’t have to be threatening to our sense of self. Incorporating AI into our lives reshapes our conception of intellect and creativity, and can help us construct a new lens on what it means to be human. Read this to learn how to stop worrying and start learning how to love AI.

“The Case for Cyborgs” by Alice Albrecht: The current paradigm of AI won’t get us to superhuman intelligence. What might? Cyborgs—so argues machine learning researcher and AI founder Alice Albrecht in this radical essay. Read this for a glimpse of a Terminator-like future.

“A Short History of Video Games” by Anna-Sofia Lesiv: Video games are both our most under-appreciated form of high art and a multi-billion-dollar industry that dwarfs the film and music businesses combined. Anna-Sofia Lesiv provides a tour through the history of gaming, showing how its innovations have pushed the cutting edge of computing forward. Read this to understand why your friends are still obsessed with Mario Bros.

🎧 “You Can Build an App With ChatGPT in 60 Minutes” by Dan Shipper/Chain of Thought: Watch Dan and software researcher Geoffrey Litt explore the future of AI and software development in the latest episode of How Do You Use ChatGPT? They use ChatGPT to build an app end to end—while they talk. Watch (or listen to) this to see a real-life use case for ChatGPT.

“The Books, Videos, Movies, and TV Shows That Changed Me Last Year” by Evan Armstrong/Napkin Math: In order to build anything great, you need great taste. And if you want to develop taste, you have to consume a lot, and figure out what you like and why. A good place to start is this list of the things Evan watched and read that impacted him most last year. Read this for some off-beat cultural picks.

The GPT Store is open for business. Now anyone can list and discover custom GPTs, and monetization is on the horizon. OpenAI’s latest attempt to create an app store for AI already looks like it will work better than plugins did. Our suggestion is get in early and start building—there are returns to be had for anyone who is willing to explore.

ChatGPT gets a memory. Your GPT can now remember what it learns between chats, so it knows who you are, and what you like and don’t like. It looks like it was launched to a few users and then rolled back, so you won’t see it in your ChatGPT instance yet. But this will be a big deal when it rolls out widely. Expect it to be a key milestone in our march to the end of organizing. Dan Shipper

We’ll use ChatGPT to identify what’s standing in the way of achieving your goal—and break through.

Final class: Put it all together

We’ll wrap up Week 4 with a session where you’ll be able to consolidate all of your progress, and establish a consistent practice for the months and years to come.
