Yapp Reminders 4+

This app has been continually useful for me. I initially downloaded it to counteract my existential anxiety, doing my own exposure therapy for philosophical questions. I got to a good place with that with an unclear level of assistance from the app, but after I was done with that, it proved to still be useful. Another time, I needed to build a sense of confident resilience to counteract general anxiety, and it was one part of what worked for me. Now I'm using it for reminders to "loosen" my muscles and tension so I can control my apparent anger. Too soon to tell on that, but i makes perfect sense to try.

Sometimes you try something that works, and you realize you've got a great tool for a wide variety of problems. Given the customizability of this app, this seems like one of those tools.

Additionally, the app developer seems friendly and helpful. I emailed him requesting he allow more reminders per day, and he amiably told me this couldn't be done since Apple limits the reminders an app can set at a time, but told me I could turn off days to expand my amount in a single day. What I did was set the number of days to two and just set an iOS reminder to change it, so I could get 24 reminders. So there's a tip too.

Overall, I recommend this app for people with creativity and a need to use reminders in a creative way.

You wouldn’t believe how hard it was to find something that simply sends me random notes from myself. I don’t want other people’s affirmations; I want to write my own. And I want them to be random. This allows exactly that. All the other affirmation apps are ridiculous and very confusing to use. This interface is about as basic as it gets....as it should be. And generously offered for free by the developer.

Only thing that would make it better is if you could set it to do more than 9 per day. But that limit does increase if you set it to fewer days. So I just re-set it each morning to the current day only, and get my barrage of reminders that the world isn’t ending. (Or maybe it is? It probably is. But that’s another conversation...) This probably doesn’t make sense but it will once you download the app.

EDIT: managed to solve my widget problem! So it seems like allowing notifications is essential no matter how youre using the app (i should have listened the first time!). Once i did that, the widget worked. Clicking into the app and dragging the slider (to trigger an update) will show another quote. The widget does not unfortunately refresh throughout the day, but at least i have a way to refresh manually.
For anyone who doesnt want to use this app notification style (i.e. widget only) i was able to turn off all forms of notifications (lock, notif center, banners) without turning off the general Allow Notification setting. And it seems this was enough for yapp too!

Wow, thank you so much for this awesome free app! Its exactly what i was looking for, as other users mentioned as well.
I am writing this also to report a bug. The widget does not work, which is my preference instead of notifications - please ensure when you can that reminders are properly loaded into the widget. A bonus would be if the quotes could cycle randomly on a daily schedule instead of weekly, like other quote apps such as ‘I am’ do.
